Shipping Biological Materials to the ALS and NCXT


Shipping of hazardous materials or biological specimens is regulated by the Department of Transportation (DOT): see , Department of Agriculture (USDA) see: and Center for Disease Control (CDC): see this CDC PDF. For more information, please review the following webpage: .

For international shipments, additional regulations are required by CDC and/or USDA. You must review the regulations for both agency’s prior to shipping your samples.

Any specimen shipment to the ALS must be approved by the EH&S office at LBNL prior to shipment: see . Take into account that additional time is required if your specimens are not recorded in any biosafety document that regulates the activity of the NCXT.
