Arriving on Site

At least 14 days prior your arrival, you must register your date of arrival on the ALS Hub. To obtain a laboratory access badge, or renew an expired one, you must arrange an appointment at the User Office: visit User Services for more information. The appointment can be booked by emailing the User Office at the following address: siteaccess@lbl.gov . After booking your appointment, you will receive a return email with instructions on how to get on site. Note that the response email can be used to get initial access to the LBNL site as well as the LBNL shuttle bus: visit Bus Timetable to see the bus route and pickup points.

If you are traveling from outside the United States, make sure you have a valid passport with an expiration date longer than 6 months after your entry date. A valid visa is also required, ensure to apply for a business visa stamp. Before coming on site, download your I-94 record as it is required by the User Office to print the badge.

Upon arriving at LBNL/ALS each registered User must pick up an LBL badge from the LBNL badge office which has their name and laboratory identification number. This badge will grant access to the ALS and the NCXT facilities.
